Safari Pastel Party Decor and Styling (Part 2)

In the last post, we revealed Mika's first birthday dessert table. Now it's time to reveal the party decor and styling.

We filled the room with pastel colour helium balloons. The colours of these balloons in the ceiling of were really pretty; as if we were covered in pastel clouds. The long strings hanging from the balloons create this light whimsy and airy atmosphere. We also hang colourful patterned buntings along the side and fronts windows.

We hang colourful party streamers along the edges of ceiling panels and balloons bunches were attached to the  seat panels. We print and cut out the animal themes and stick them on to the windows between the seat panels. At the end of the seat we have our custom guest book where the guest can attached their polaroid pictures from the photo booth and write their birthday wishes to the birthday girl.

We installed a super cute photo background for this party. The centre of the polka dot vinyl backdrop were a custom design birthday poster with pink ribbon ruffles frame. We have  theme animals cut out and colourful flower planters for the decor. We source party accessories like funny goggles, party hats/wigs and put them into a basket next to the photo background so the guest can have fun with their pictures.

To the left of the photo booth was our amazing dessert table and to the right was appetizer table filled with yummy savouries and snacks. Long cylinder vases with bunches of parrot tulips and hydrangeas were the centre pieces of the table. A cute rubber ducky was floated on a special vase filled with single stem of arum lily added a whimsy touch.

Last we have table filled with thank you gift for the special little guests of baby Mikayla. A custom designed backpacks were wrapped in plastic cello and sealed with pretty ribbon and custom gift tag. A special "take me home" signage was place at the display racks along with few decorative items and theme animal cut outs.

Overall it was a one truly special birthday party. Decygn had a great time creating every part of it; from the sweet dessert table to fantastic party styling. I'm sure Mikaela and her parents along with their guests had a wonderful party. See you in the next party!

Love Birds Civil Ceremony

"Friends are the best person whom you can share your moments, thoughts, feelings, your joy, secrets, and most of all laughters.."

Andy and Novi are our dear sweet friends, so imagine how delighted we are when they request Decygn to be a part of their special day.

Novi was the kind of client every designer love, she was clear on what details she wants to incorporate but at the same time trusting us to work creatively and freely do what we do best.

Our bride wants a simple celebration with fresh flower and apple green as the main colour, we then add on yellow for contrast and lively effect with white as a background.

Online invitation with little bird couple as requested by the bride
For the guest book we created a custom design pages where you can stick photo and write messages, the cover was stitch and hand made using a green fabric.

Various flask was use as a hanging pot along the wall.

We put vases filled with apples along the aisle, later these apples will transform into favours. As you might guess, these pretty little favours are our multitasker apples, wrap in paper lunch brown bag and clipped with custom thank you notes
The altar was one of my favourite part, the flower arrangement really brighten the place up.

This one was our "surprise gift" for the couple, we create a display of their pre-wedding photo, and many guest end up using it as a photo background.

This couple is so near to my heart and seeing their big smile is just an icing on the cake. Congrats to the lovely Andy & Novi for the start of an amazing journey together.

Testimonial from the bride and groom:

Everyone loves the decor and you have made things beautiful at the end.

Rustic Wedding : All in the details

If you miss our last two posts on these rustic themed wedding, you can read more about it here. Now we are going to share the details of the wedding.

We styled the guest reception table with fresh flowers, birdcages, rustic tray and we use burlap as the table runner. The guest book was specially designed using sheets of laser engraved plywood. The tree and heart design was taken from the wedding invitation.

The bride and groom want life plants as their gift favor so we suggested mini mixed herbs in pots. A custom made bags from cotton fabric stamped with the heart design is very stylish and charming. We simply present thems in plant racks and let the guest pick their own choice of herbs: coriander, basil, thyme, rosemary and chives.

Following the ceremony, the guest were served luncheon and we designed a totally YUM dessert table. We use tree stumps and wooden tray lined with napkins for the mini-treats.  We use rice to hold the macaroons in the tray so it can be easily picked by guests.  The cake pops were presented on a moss-covered wooden tray. Spoons for the fruit punch were placed in glass pots and tied on to the tree stumps. The background of the dessert table was white garden lattice decorated with garland and glass vase filled with flowers.

For buffet table sign, we use gigantic wooden scrabble pieces spelled V-E-G-I-E and B-B-Q. Plant labels were used as buffet menu and were stick unto the herb gift favour.

We create rustic flower arrangements on long table which cover the soundsystem to the church. Mixed bottle of various shapes and sizes were used as vases. Branches and fresh flowers were used. We add tea lights and the couple engagements photos to the display.

Overall, it was truly an amazing moments for us to be able to design for our dear friends. There were some long sleepless nights, panda-eyes and sore-backs during the production to finish the project, but we count them as blessings. We wish the very wonderful journey ahead for E&R.

Rustic & Charmed Garden Wedding Décor

We posted this rustic wedding invitation not long ago, and now is time to reveal our styling décor for the wedding ceremony. The wedding took place in a church in East Caulfield. It was the perfect weather to held this joyous occasion.

For the guest entrance, we used a pergola and decorated it with twig, branches and few flower blooms to create a rustic feel. The guest book was specially designed using sheets of laser engraved plywood and the herbs in the pots were given as a gifts to the guest in a custom made bags to mimic the wedding invitation envelope.

The bride and groom walk down the aisle on a white flower carpet with red rose petals scatter around.  Along the aisle were cyclamen within wooden rustic pots. The white stools for the bride and groom were decorated with white geranium bushes.

Panels of white garden trellis climber decorated with ivy and flowers transformed the church stage to a rustic secret garden. Planter boxes filled with flowers and sleek white altar table add the charm to the stage.

Red roses were the heroes in this wedding and it has a special meaning for the couple. The groom gave 365 stems of long deep-rich red roses on their first anniversary during their courtship. He put them inside her bedroom to surprise her and the whole room filled (PACKED) with the beauty until no more rooms to put.

The windows on the side walls were dress up with custom made window screen. Tulle curtains soften the natural light that brightens the rooms. Planter box filled with flowers add sweet touch.  Wood panels between the windows were part of the church and were highlighted with simple hanging flower baskets and spotlight.

One that truly transformed the church hall was the additional of floating garland lattice decorated with flowers and fairy lights. That was the most consuming time to install but the final result worth every minutes of it.

That was the big pictures of the rustic wedding décor. We had so many positive feedbacks from the guests and it was truly an honour for us to designing for the couple.  Cheers, and wait tomorrow as we post more on the details.

hip-HIPPO-ray fabulous birthday party..

Remember our sneak-peek last few months about a fabulous 1st birthday party? Now is the full version from Mommy 'D'.

It's been said so many times; "time flies when you have fun". Well, it really does. I can't believe that it has been a year since my daughter was born. It feels like just couple weeks ago. Now she's ONE year old. It's been 12 months of joy. It's trully been a year worth celebrating. Then it's the time to plan a cheerful and fun birthday party for her.

When it's time to decide a birthday theme, I look at things that she loves the most. She has this hippo-push-toy that she really likes named "Mr. Hippo". She learns to walk pushing Mr. Hippo. Sometime she stumbles but we always encourage her to get up and try again. In the end, she successfully walk on her own really early at the age of 11 months; all thanks to Mr. Hippo. So I decide to have a "hip-HIPPO-ray" party with pink and yellow as the colour theme. Its cute, girly and fun...

The first thing is to create a hippo birthday invitation. Our creative designer sketch the hippo herself. Initially she has several version of hippo. One hippo with a really thick hair (to resemble my daughter's thick hair) is really funny. But in the end we decide on the hippo wearing a party hat, holding a ballon and blowing a candle on the birthday cake. I created a half circle garland using colourful paper mounted on thick double tape to create a 3D effect. The cardstock used has a nice pattern and the colour compliment the theme. A map of the party location is attached to the other side of the cardstock.

Custom designed hip-HIPPO-ray invitation

The most exciting part is the envelope. I don't want an ordinary envelope. So I get a pink vellum paper and I machine-stitch the edges to create a little pocket. The address tag is also stitch along the edges. Overall, a really nice invitation that sets the mood of the party.

Birthday invitation and the thank you tag.

For the party decor, I repeat the half-circle garland from the invitation. I make a bigger version using lots of colourful papers. I put it on her high-chair.. at front-door.. on top of the dessert table.. and on top of the doors in the house.. We make a big "A" sign on the front door using a pompoms. It turn out really nice..

High chair decor and pompom front door sign

Did I mention a "dessert table"? Yess.. we create a dessert table full with delicioussss yumminess. In the centre of the table is a really cute HIPPO birthday cake created by one of our talented friend. Colourful wooden alphabets spell my daughter's name. Cupcakes, tiramisu, brownies, cream puff, rice-pudding is on the menu. The drink dispenser is filled with sweet "happy-soda" which is soda water mixed with strawberry syrup and condensed milk.

The wonderful and mouthwatering dessert table

The cupcake toppers and buffet labels are specially designed. I love the 10 cupcake toppers designs. There are two designs for the food labels; the sweet dessert has pink with cute ribbon label, whilst the savoury food has yellow with hippo head label. A "Please enjoy" sign is placed on to the dessert table so guest can take as much as they want.

Food buffet labels; savoury and sweets.

Pink and yellow plate is a must for a yellow and pink party! We create a empty name-label and stick it to drinking glass so each guest can write their names and don't mix glasses with each other. We prepare lollies bags for children who come to the party.. We design two 'thank you' tags; yellow for the boys, pink for the girls.

Serving tables, lollies bag, and guest cup name label

I want to make sure every guest has something to take home that they remember from my daughter's party.. Whilst the children receive their lollies bags, adults and babies also receive personalised 'thank you' gifts. My daughter is the first one in her group who turn one year old. So she has lots (I count up to 10 babies) of babies friends. I created bibs with 'hip-hippo-ray' design. For the aunties, we designs pins with writing : Audrey's pretties/hottest/cutie/finest/fave/etc etc aunty. For the uncles, it is Audrey's coolest/superb/smart/super/etc etc uncle. We make sure the right uncle and aunty get the right pins. Of course, there's only one "lovely" mum and one "huggy" dad pin.

Custom made bibs and pins for guest gifts

In the end, we have a great time.. Everyone enjoy the food and each other company.. My daughter was too excited that she got tired and sleep halfway the party.. She slept when I hold her.. then she wake up with a big smile.. ready to open up all the pressieesss that she got.

Thank you to all aunties, uncles, and my daughter's friends... for celebrating Audrey's wonderful first year!

Thank you to DECYGN for the creativity and teamwork to create such a memorable moments.
