Dragon Chinese New Year

Lunar New Year 2012 is just one week away and the agenda is filing up with friends banquet invitation and family gathering.  I’m looking forward to go to China-town to see lion-dance, firecracker, street stalls, and other cultural performances.

Last year,   I made red-envelope for the lucky money to give to relative kids (read here). This year I created the red-envelope to give to my parents as a gift to wish them health and prosperity.

Red patterned paper is the base of the envelope. I dress it up with paper doilies and red ribbon. The dragon designed by lemongraphic  was glued onto gold cardstock. I printed little tag of “Happy New Year” and glued onto gold cardstock to finish it off. The result is a chic fusion stylish lucky-money envelope.

For dinner party with friends and family,  I created paper fortune cookies using various red patterned paper. I filled it with chocolate and various famous quotes.  Loving the result and how pretty they look bunched together or just on its own.

Happy Lunar Year! Have a prosperous year filled with great health and happiness.
