Christmas Hamper - Joy of Giving

December is a busy and joyful month for Decygn. We get so busy with Christmas hamper orders, dinner invitation and festivity decors. With Christmas carol in the background and a sense of joy and peace in the air; we keep our spirit high in the mist of our works. Christmas brings out the joy of giving in many people. We get a lot of corporate Christmas hampers order as well as personal order.

For the first hamper, we get a mini Christmas tree. The base is wrapped with burlap cloth and tied with velvet red ribbon. Instead of baubles and tinsel, we use colourful chocolate balls and liquor filled chocolate to decorate the tree. Red ribbons and mini bells ornaments finish the tree décor. We filled the wooden box with jam, tea, tin of biscuit, cashews, and bottle of wine. Cello wrap, red ribbon, and custom designed gift tag complete the hamper.

For another hamper, we get a bright red ceramic dish as a hamper tray. The same chocolate decorated mini tree is also included in this hamper. We couldn’t resist when we passed through a set of red silicone muffin tray with brush, whisk and spatula- such a nice Christmas gift. Two glass cups were filled with candy cane and embellished with red ribbons. Chocolate, cashews, nut-mix and chocolate stick wafer packed the ceramic dish; which then wrapped with cello.

Red is always the colour of Christmas. For the next hamper, we let a simple red ribbon be the star. The red ribbon contrasts nicely with the white crisp box filled pretzel and chocolate mix. Then we attached custom-designed gift tag to the lid. A cute red (again) bow finish the gift.

We’re sure everyone receiving the hampers will be joyous and happy!!! Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year..

hip-HIPPO-ray fabulous birthday party..

Remember our sneak-peek last few months about a fabulous 1st birthday party? Now is the full version from Mommy 'D'.

It's been said so many times; "time flies when you have fun". Well, it really does. I can't believe that it has been a year since my daughter was born. It feels like just couple weeks ago. Now she's ONE year old. It's been 12 months of joy. It's trully been a year worth celebrating. Then it's the time to plan a cheerful and fun birthday party for her.

When it's time to decide a birthday theme, I look at things that she loves the most. She has this hippo-push-toy that she really likes named "Mr. Hippo". She learns to walk pushing Mr. Hippo. Sometime she stumbles but we always encourage her to get up and try again. In the end, she successfully walk on her own really early at the age of 11 months; all thanks to Mr. Hippo. So I decide to have a "hip-HIPPO-ray" party with pink and yellow as the colour theme. Its cute, girly and fun...

The first thing is to create a hippo birthday invitation. Our creative designer sketch the hippo herself. Initially she has several version of hippo. One hippo with a really thick hair (to resemble my daughter's thick hair) is really funny. But in the end we decide on the hippo wearing a party hat, holding a ballon and blowing a candle on the birthday cake. I created a half circle garland using colourful paper mounted on thick double tape to create a 3D effect. The cardstock used has a nice pattern and the colour compliment the theme. A map of the party location is attached to the other side of the cardstock.

Custom designed hip-HIPPO-ray invitation

The most exciting part is the envelope. I don't want an ordinary envelope. So I get a pink vellum paper and I machine-stitch the edges to create a little pocket. The address tag is also stitch along the edges. Overall, a really nice invitation that sets the mood of the party.

Birthday invitation and the thank you tag.

For the party decor, I repeat the half-circle garland from the invitation. I make a bigger version using lots of colourful papers. I put it on her high-chair.. at front-door.. on top of the dessert table.. and on top of the doors in the house.. We make a big "A" sign on the front door using a pompoms. It turn out really nice..

High chair decor and pompom front door sign

Did I mention a "dessert table"? Yess.. we create a dessert table full with delicioussss yumminess. In the centre of the table is a really cute HIPPO birthday cake created by one of our talented friend. Colourful wooden alphabets spell my daughter's name. Cupcakes, tiramisu, brownies, cream puff, rice-pudding is on the menu. The drink dispenser is filled with sweet "happy-soda" which is soda water mixed with strawberry syrup and condensed milk.

The wonderful and mouthwatering dessert table

The cupcake toppers and buffet labels are specially designed. I love the 10 cupcake toppers designs. There are two designs for the food labels; the sweet dessert has pink with cute ribbon label, whilst the savoury food has yellow with hippo head label. A "Please enjoy" sign is placed on to the dessert table so guest can take as much as they want.

Birthday cake, cupcake toppers and desert table decor

Food buffet labels; savoury and sweets.

Pink and yellow plate is a must for a yellow and pink party! We create a empty name-label and stick it to drinking glass so each guest can write their names and don't mix glasses with each other. We prepare lollies bags for children who come to the party.. We design two 'thank you' tags; yellow for the boys, pink for the girls.

Serving tables, lollies bag, and guest cup name label

I want to make sure every guest has something to take home that they remember from my daughter's party.. Whilst the children receive their lollies bags, adults and babies also receive personalised 'thank you' gifts. My daughter is the first one in her group who turn one year old. So she has lots (I count up to 10 babies) of babies friends. I created bibs with 'hip-hippo-ray' design. For the aunties, we designs pins with writing : Audrey's pretties/hottest/cutie/finest/fave/etc etc aunty. For the uncles, it is Audrey's coolest/superb/smart/super/etc etc uncle. We make sure the right uncle and aunty get the right pins. Of course, there's only one "lovely" mum and one "huggy" dad pin.

Custom made bibs and pins for guest gifts

In the end, we have a great time.. Everyone enjoy the food and each other company.. My daughter was too excited that she got tired and sleep halfway the party.. She slept when I hold her.. then she wake up with a big smile.. ready to open up all the pressieesss that she got.

Thank you to all aunties, uncles, and my daughter's friends... for celebrating Audrey's wonderful first year!

Thank you to DECYGN for the creativity and teamwork to create such a memorable moments.

EXCITED!! Is the only word that could describe, when Margaret announces her engagement with Ivan. What can I say about this crazily in love, adventurous couple Ivan and Maggie? Beside their tons differences, they’re sharing the very same passion. Both adore fashion; sport is their life style; tremendously passionate about travelling and good food.

Fate brings Ivan and Margaret together. After their wonderful journey together, Ivan and Margaret decide to held civil wedding ceremony in Melbourne on October 2010.

Their wedding theme is “IM” abbreviation from Ivan and Margaret. The couple want to share their journey and memories to a dream wedding.

Pompoms

Ivan and Margaret want Joyful and Casual wedding party with pink and green as the main theme. DECYGN creative team settle on pompoms and pinwheel are the perfect ornaments for casual wedding party. Pompoms require a little bit of patience, but it’s quite satisfying when you finally get to cut them and produce your pompoms. We feel in love with the cute pompoms and had to share. As the couple wish pink and green it is, matching the cream colour make it even more perfect.

Pompoms Gate

FEASTER of LOVE

"Let the ressurection joy lift us from loneliness and weakness and despair to strength and beauty and happiness" - Floyd W. Tomkins

For the last few weeks, I was reflecting on the true meaning of Easter. For some, it is the time when the store shelves are stocked with chocolate eggs; for other it is the time to go on a trip during the long weekend holiday. For me, it means more than chocolate and holiday. It simply comes back to where it all started. As the quote above from Floyd W. Tomkins, Easter is a time of exchange; weakness to strength, despair to happiness. It is a time of celebration, because we are liberated from everything that holds us back. Hence, I decided to have a "feaster" this Easter simply because I want to share life as someone has shared and exchanged his life for me.

This time around, together with my best friend, we are hosting an Easter lunch. We are gathering our family and closest friends to celebrate Easter together. Then it time to get busy with cooking and styling the feast.

The colour theme was teal and yellow, inspired by this gorgeous fabric that I found recently. Our designer created an invitation to match the fabric. Then I used the fabric as the front cover of the invitation. Invite name card was attached to white satin ribbon belt.

The menu card matched to the invitation. We created a chocolate egg nest around a planted pot, and the menu card was placed in the middle of the plant. Big flower and lace around the pot added sweet touch.
We filled muffin cups with chocolate eggs and put the place cad on top for guest to take home. The chocolate bunny was so cute sitting nicely on top a beautiful cake stand.

And the foooddd... we have so many food and it was a truly great Feaster.. Everyone got excited when the entree was served, so it was a good start... Main was served, followed by dessert... Everyone full, everybody happy... Of course, more cocholate to devour...

Here's more snap of the stationary created by our talented designer..

I hope your Easter was as great as mine... Happy Easter!

Happy Chinese New Year Part 2

Hi there,

As promised before (previous post here), today I will show you our Chinese new year hamper that was ordered by our clients for their business partner. We have lots of fun deciding what we can put in the hamper within the budget.. =)

The basket itself is a bamboo steamer that you can find in most Chinese groceries. You definitely can use it for cooking after you unwrap the hamper..

Colour that we choose are bright red (happiness) and gold/orange (wealth). Let's unwrap our hamper and find out what's inside:
- Chinese tea in gorgeous tin and two pretty tea cups that we also filled with candies; on one we have 8 lucky candies (8 is significant in Chinese culture as it represent prosperity) and ferrero rocher that looks like golden nuggets.
- Cookies, their sweetness symbolizes a rich, sweet life.
- And of course oranges, oranges are normally passed out freely during the Chinese new year as the word orange sound like wealth in Chinese language.

We also decorate it with string of traditional Chinese gold money. You can't have too much gold right =P

Last but not least for each hamper we attached a Hong Bao filled with good luck wishes.

Again, happy Chinese new year everyone, may this year bring prosperous and fortune for you all.

Vintage inspired Champagne and Pink Wedding Stationary

It was a while ago that Dun Mo and Bei Li got married.. We already shared their story to you.. as promised, now we are going to share the lovely stationary that we created for them..

We followed their wedding theme which was vintage and shabby... their choice of colour was champagne and pink.. We created wedding invitation, ceremony program, buffet card, and the bonbonniere. Everything look cohesive and ties to the theme..

For the invitation, we used cream card stock and champagne flocked paper. The invitation were printed on transparent paper which looks luxurious. We punched lace border along the flocked paper for top and bottom of the card stock. White satin ribbon and square pearl buckles add sweet touch. Cream metallic envelope matches the card stock and we added pink lining to tie with the theme.

For their ceremony program, we used the same cream cardstock and we print the program on transparent paper with champagne colour pattern. Pink lace border were added to each corner and matching pink bow add lovely touch.

After the ceremony, the couple served buffet of finger foods. We created a buffee card using cream cardstock and champagne patterned transparent paper. Pink lace borders add elegance.

As for the bonbonniere, we filled acrylic tube with cream and pink sugar coated almonds. We wrapped tissue paper bothe ends and cream ribbon to sweeten the look. We shaped the tissue paper like candy with pink ties.

That complete the post for Dun Mo and Bei Li wedding.. Next will be a full coverage of E wedding..

Pink Baby Girl Hamper in a Basket

"A baby is a blessing from God. We are sure your little one will be blessed by great parents"

Welcome to the world baby K..

This hamper was made especially made for mommy to be and of-course for baby K as baby shower gifts... then good news came.. Baby K was born couple of weeks ago... Congratulation to Mr & Mrs. AH..

Pink is identical with baby girl.. To be honest, I have a feeling that this baby is gonna be a girl.. and it turns out to be true... ^_^ A set of baby clothes, jump suit for winter and little pink dress are all in pink shades wrapped nicely inside the basket.. Light yellow and silver as complementary colour only make this hamper looks even cuter...

Card with the same theme colour are especially handcrafted to go with this hamper.. For the envelope I choose pink colour and for a cute bow at the back think a touch of silver would go really well.. I use silver as the card with a pink lining on the inside..

I decided to make pop up Baby Pram card for Baby K.. I added small pink flowers on the pram..

As you can see, I made dummy Ipad on the card.. Made from Polaroid photos of my friends and I.. During her pregnancy, Mrs AH kept mentioning that she really want to have an Ipad.. With few creativity and a bit of imagination, I try to make her dream comes true... ^_^

Once again.. Congratulation!!!!
