Happy Chinese New Year Part 2

Hi there,

As promised before (previous post here), today I will show you our Chinese new year hamper that was ordered by our clients for their business partner. We have lots of fun deciding what we can put in the hamper within the budget.. =)

The basket itself is a bamboo steamer that you can find in most Chinese groceries. You definitely can use it for cooking after you unwrap the hamper..

Colour that we choose are bright red (happiness) and gold/orange (wealth). Let's unwrap our hamper and find out what's inside:
- Chinese tea in gorgeous tin and two pretty tea cups that we also filled with candies; on one we have 8 lucky candies (8 is significant in Chinese culture as it represent prosperity) and ferrero rocher that looks like golden nuggets.
- Cookies, their sweetness symbolizes a rich, sweet life.
- And of course oranges, oranges are normally passed out freely during the Chinese new year as the word orange sound like wealth in Chinese language.

We also decorate it with string of traditional Chinese gold money. You can't have too much gold right =P

Last but not least for each hamper we attached a Hong Bao filled with good luck wishes.

Again, happy Chinese new year everyone, may this year bring prosperous and fortune for you all.
